As a community, Historic Edgefield Neighbors has made excellent progress in collecting backpacks as well as monetary and food donations for the Holiday Backpack Program at Warner Elementary. A big thanks to the generosity of Edgefield neighbors, the Turnip Truck and Laura Mitchell of Rudy Title and Escrow for their many contributions.
Cash donations are still welcome toward the cost of the backpacks, and you can drop an envelope in Anne Manner’s front door mail slot at 600 Russell Street (37206) or give to your favorite, most conveniently located Edgefield board member (see the list of board members here). Another option: come to the Edgefield monthly meeting on November 28 at East Park Community Center (7PM) and someone will be happy to accept your donation there. Also, packing day is Saturday, December 2, at 10am at Warner School if you would like to come be a part of the “stuffing of the backpacks”! You can also help by still contributing food for the backpacks. Sandy Tipping and the Legacy Fund built an Amazon shopping list with backpack-appropriate items. The Legacy Fund Backpack Wish List 2017 is available at http://a.co/66E96Db. Or you can donate directly to the Legacy Fund, which helps grow the fund and enables them to continue this wonderful program: https://tulipstreetlegacy.org/. On behalf of the HEN Board and the Legacy Fund, thank you for helping provide nutritional support for the children and families in our community. Comments are closed.
