May 30 Meeting: Envision Cayce Presentation

Please make plans to join us Tuesday, May 30, for our next neighborhood business meeting. In addition to our regular agenda items, we will have a special presentation on Envision Cayce.
 
SPECIAL PRESENTATION: ENVISION CAYCE 
Also, as part of our meeting, Edgefield neighbors will receive an update on Envision Cayce:
 
Jim Harbison, the executive director of MDHA, will share updates and answer questions about the work of Envision Cayce. If you aren't familiar with Envision Cayce, here are a few bits of info:

• Envision Cayce has been a multi-year planning effort between MDHA and residents of both Cayce and the broader community.
• It is increasingly being seen as a national model for effective revitalization of public housing projects and the single largest affordable housing development in Davidson County.
• The 1,000 Cayce and CWA subsidized housing units will be rebuilt and dedicated to the same low income families.
  
• Another 1,500 affordable housing units will be built for working families.
• The project is both mixed income and mixed use.
• The project is roughly $650 million in total and will be financed mostly with private, not public funds.

With an interest in keeping our neighbors up-to-date on key issues that impact Edgefield and our immediate surroundings, the Board has committed to regularly bringing in guest speakers for our meetings. Our Envision Cayce update is this month’s special presentation. If you have ideas or topics of interest, we welcome them.
