Board Meeting Minutes (July 24)

The Board for Historic Edgefield met on July 24. The following post recaps the news shared at the meeting:
 
The Annual Ice Cream Social will be held at Brandon Dyce and Frank Zier’s home at 812 Fatherland on Aug. 30 from 7:00PM to 8:30PM. Please bring your lawn chair and your favorite ice cream to share. Board and officers elections will be held during the ice cream social as well.
 
We are now Historic Edgefield Neighbors (HEN). Our new name replaces Historic Edgefield, Inc. because we are no longer incorporated. Our new website, developed by the Communications Committee, is now live. 
 
We adopted a new schedule for neighborhood meetings that will alternate business meetings with social gatherings. Business meetings will be on the last Tuesday of every other month at East Park Community Center. Location and details of socials will be announced as they are planned. You can find the latest meeting dates and information on the events calendar.
 
Board nominations for the election on Aug. 30 are as follows: Denise Downs, Jenny Alexander, Chris Lucas, and Javier Rodriguez. In addition, Jenny Alexander is nominated for treasurer and Denise Downs for vice president. There can also be nominations on election night. The following HEN board members plan to leave the board: Lauren Folk, Bill Holden (vice president), Tom Hardin, and Sean Alexander (treasurer). We appreciate their many contributions to the neighborhood.
